Brought to you by Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary in collaboration with: World Animal Protection and Animal Welfare Foundation of Canada.
Join us for a public webinar examining the urgent need for stronger protections for primates in Ontario. This session brings together leading experts in animal welfare, law, and sanctuary care—along with MPP Lucille Collard, who tabled Bill 35: the Captive Wildlife Protection Act —to explore the realities of roadside zoos, the gaps in current regulations, and the promise of modern, enforceable oversight. The panel will also share the remarkable story of Bruno, a resilient survivor of a roadside zoo whose journey to sanctuary underscores what meaningful change can achieve. This conversation invites educators, advocates, and community members to learn, connect, and help shape a safer future for captive primates. Bruno was kept in a windowless pen with rats as companions and no access to the outdoors. In sanctuary he is provided with choices - the freedom to go outdoors and the option to interact with other primates.
